Jason
I need to take the fuse out of the petrol guage so that it reads empty. I know it seems a daft thing to need to do, but I have reasons. Which fuse do I need to pull out and also will pulling the fuse stop something else from working?
Supra ST Myster
there isnt a fuse for the petrol gauge that will make it show empty as even when you disconnect the gauge cluster and remove the fuel gauge it still shows how much petrol was left. Jason
Don't really want to do that, I need more petrol in the tank than is actuall showing on the guage. I don't want to take all the dial cluster to peices and move the needle, but I may have to.
Supra ST Myster
that is the way to do it if you want more petrol in the car that it is showing! easy to do.
Ian C
Take the pump cage out of the car and tie tag the float arm to the cage so it doesn't register any fuel. Easy. But now you've gotta explain why you want to do this -Ian
Soop Dogg
I reckon he's going to give a girlie a lift home and try the "Oh dear, I seem to have run out of petrol" routine......

Supra ST Myster
Ok, sussed this out for you, if you unplug your cluster totally and then on the fuel gauge there are 3 screws which are the contacts for it and it is marked up, G,+ and F ( fuel) on the back, If you just put a 12V source on the G (negative) and the + (+12V) you will see the gauge start to fall, if you then put another 12V source on it while the other 12V souce is still on so you need 2, where the negative will go on the F and the positive on the + it will start to go up slowly
