Motorway speed limits to rise?

thing is ive read people are scared that its going to be a catch 22 situation. Higher limit but stricter enforcement. I.E no more 10% plus 2 if the limit was 78.

I mean what the hell is 78 anyway? like Edd says, how will you know your speed on an analogue dial between 75 & 80? best of just making it 80 and keeping things simple. next minute they will be saying 78.5 MPH!

78MPH is pretty much equivalent to 125KPH so maybe it is tied to some European limit.

they could raise it to 100MPH and then concentrate on prosecuting idiot drivers on the roads instead. 5% speed related accidents kill, 38% are due to inattentive/incompetent drivers. and they are there own figures.

personally i don't see why anyone would want to go over 120MPH on one of our motorways, no probs in Europe where they are better quality.

Can't see it ever happening, the bunch of fannies promoting Health & Safety in every aspect of our lives are far too bolshy & strong for it to ever happen

Weigh that up against all the extra money the government will be getting from the fines from stricter enforcement.

SPECS cameras on every slip road anyone?
