The Altezza with the BEAMS engine is the RS200. Standard IS200s only have 150bhp and Ive read on a few forums that theyre a bit disappointing performance wise. I went from a 194bhp Peugeot 406 Coupe (comparable to a NA supra performance wise) to a mk4 Golf GTI 1.8T with 150bhp and found the drop in power quite severe and noticable. That said, the IS200 is a 6 cylinder and sounds lovely.

Get an imported Altezza, better spec and available with the 2.2 BEAMS engine ;)

3S-GE BEAMS

Main article: Toyota 3S-GE engine

The fourth generation of the Toyota 3S-GE series, dubbed by Toyota as "Breakthrough Engine with Advanced Mechanism System". This series is technically advanced, even more so than the 2JZ-GTE. The first generation engine (Red Top) uses single cam VVT-i, the second (Black Top) employs dual VVT-i (on both the intake and exhaust) to provide 150 kW. It is available on the Toyota Altezza, Celica, Corona and MR2 and is the only 3S-GE to arrive in a rear-wheel drive layout from factory

Its only a 2.0 Litre!!! NOT a 2.2

thanks for the info

No Problem dude - thank Wikipedia!!! usually does the trick :)

I would love a IS300 Sport (shame they are auto only) or the new IS-F!! Come to think of it a Aristo V300 would be nice, or a GS300 Sport............
