Havard
Sounds like a good deal to me. That car would have been about £26k three and a half years ago!! They are great to drive and unbelievably reliable. H. Edit: comparison http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/111134.htm
Ian W
for an 03 plate??? that's Vectra money mate....bloody good deal.
Suprasteve
now that i've moved i'm clocking up some serious mileage ...and petrol. I've been thinking of "downsizing" the supra for a while now but the new car needs to be half decent. I'm after comfort, good looks, fairly powerful but also good MPG. All this for less than £9k as i don't think i'll get anymore than that for mine - (basically i want my cake and eat it) any ideas what else i should be looking for ? Chewie
Our project manager here has one and I'm impressed and for that price, it's good deal.

Suprasteve
just been told they will only keep it till 6th Feb then sell back to the dealers. theres no chance i'll sell mine before then - TBH i'm not even sure i can bring myself to sell it. If anyone is interested i'll try and have a word for you cos i'm sure anything is better than selling it back to the dealer as they'll give them bugger all for it. Wez
My mate at work has a supercharged one built by TDI, very quick and well put together. He was my passenger when I raced a dodge viper late last year
aido
one of the engineers i work with has a lexus 1s200 and he uses as a drift car,he goes to most competitions and has quite a few sponsors and he says its the best car he has,hes got three of them, one for drifting, one hes building up and the other has a supra tt engine in,and there nice. ill try and get some pics of the ones hes got Sounds like that'll be Clawley then, if you see him tell him Aido says hello and that he's a glockenende! I used to have a supercharged IS200, they're ok, not great on fuel though, they use the 1G-FE which is nice and smooth but a bit crap on economy, I used to get around 250-300 miles to the tank, maybe 350 on a motorway run, costs me a third more to run the Aristo. One of the lads I know reckoned he could get 500 to a tank on the motorway but he never used to drive more than 60mph. Nice cars though, they handle great when the suspension is modded, and they're still a great looker nearly 10 years on!
Graham S
Amazing drive with a great gearbox But i found they are a little slow but also they have great sounding stereo's!
Tom
**thread bump** any more opinions on the IS200? they're pretty cheap at the moment and this might be a nicer alternative to a R32 Skyline I had been looking for
The Restorer
I remember a family friend commenting on the poor mileage with them. Other than that I think they look a great car and as always Japanese build quality and reliability.

Tom
Get an imported Altezza, better spec and available with the 2.2 BEAMS engine I have been thinking about it, I know of a few unregistered ones in the country so if the price is right I'll be tempted, what bhp are the beams engines?? I didnt realise it was a 2.2? I thought it was a 2litre?
JamieP
Is it that cheap? is this the same type of car you are talking about? 2 years newer with less miles and cheaper. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/826683.htm
Tom
I've seen some 6 speed IS200's from around £2500 today, quite high mileage & 1999's but some 80,90k mile ones for 4kish altezza's seem to be 6k+
