flukey-lukey
ok here are the pics, I was changing my belt tensioner and dropped a bolt down on to the undertray and found this sitting there too.... Is this the outer part of my crank pully? How can it have come off and the belt be still attached (belt goes round shiney round metal pully with no grooves atm, which I thought was a little odd) This might be the reason that I'm hearing funny noises and squeeling from the belt? So, actually the belt tensioner didn't need to be replaced? So, can someone confirm what this is please?

Didn't have a total loss of power steering, it was intermittant. Is it a hard job to change the crank pully? any step by step guides anywhere? Ok TRADERS can you fire some prices at me for a new crank pully for j-spec 94 TT please I don't want to pay Mr' Toyota prices!

NUTKIN
The hard part is to undo the bolt an keep the pulley still an the bolt is a normal thread not left handed. Then u need a pulley remover just watch u dont catch the rad or ul need one of those as well.
supra matt
You could do it the way i do put socket and breaker bar on crank nut put a bar on it that will reach the floor then turn the engine over useing the starter motor to crack the bolt undone . just flick the key on and off as it should only take one try also take out the fuel injection fuse as you dont wont the car to start . suprasteve1979
Same happened to me was well impressed the belt didn't come off, got all the way home with no damage, definatley go Original pulley from toyota. Replaced mine just before christmas took about 2-3 hours working from the top, (easier form underneath I am told) Used 2 x M8 blots and a round metal disc and wound nuts down the bolts to pull old wheel off, got some photos if you need them.
