Wez
It covers everything apart from major joints and has an LED frame around the face, like a target Wicked.

Sheefa
Bloody Halo suit through and through!
Rob
The whole suit -- which draws design inspiration from Star Wars, RoboCop, Batman and video games -- is made from high-impact plastic lined with ceramic bullet protection over ballistic foam. Yeah, because that's the source of info for the US military as well, rather than 200 years of real battlefield experience, combined with hard economic and political decision making. As Wez pointed out, his whole thigh/trunk area is uncovered, what's in there, just two of the biggest arteries in the body. A chink in the armour, literally? silvershark44
Infact the more I look at it the more I want one! But considering soldiers have been denied basic body armour these days makes me wonder if they will ever get put into use.

I read somewhere that someone has invested some really thin bullet proof fabric, stronge as kevelar but has been designed for mobility in suits such as this in those kind of areas. Wouldnt be suprised if it used that there. As it has everything else. As the end of the day, you can still get shot in the thing, but compared to standard body armour your chances are reduced greatly, especially if your taking the enemy by suprise in seige attempts where they are just laying down panic fire, and not taking the time to aim at your crotch! Mike
Yep, someone's been playing way too much Halo I like this one; Hurtubise, 43, wore his suit -- helmet and all -- on the four-hour drive down south, partly as a way of making sure it would be comfortable enough in the field. Even sitting on his armoured butt cheeks, he said he was fine.
tbourner
I love it but they won't put it in the field - too much risk of the enemy getting hold of it!! How do you tell your troops apart anyway?
Rob
I was thinking more of frag mines, grenage shrapnel damage. I also saw something being developed like Predator camo, projecting images across a fabric suit.

The ones on your side have their names above them in blue, the enemy use red nametags. If you press F5 you can.... oh....

How do you tell your troops apart anyway? yeah the enemy could get hold of it, but cmon, how many soldiers are unrecoverable in battle these days??? not many. This isnt like loosing muskets to the Zulu's you know. And as for telling people appart, you would have colour coded armour for officers and ranks printed on arms etc, and i would have thought in even in some battle scenarios, the helmet probably wouldnt be worn, unless the conditions required it. Am I the only one who thinks this is a good idea, Plus....you would look so much cooler than the rest of the soldiers!!
Sheefa
I bet it wouldn't stop a RPG or a direct hit from an American Stinger Missile.
Daston
but then nor does a tank you cant walk about with one of them strapped to you
Al Massey
a british Tank will stop an rpg, and an american stinger missile will go through pretty much anything in its way.
