anyone know how to resolve an issue with this programme dropping frames/

i cant seem to capture any video at all...just jumpy frames and some sound

I have closed all running programmes, defragmented.

i am using a laptop with no extra programming on it as i want the memory free for video download.

Would reinstalling help?
