lockys96
i have just received my shipping customs vat duty which im happy with. the part im not, is the delivery of air freight. i have agreed in writing and verbal to go ahead with a qoute beforehand. the packages were qouted for 3 large packages, fibreglass and carbon 12 piece kit, weighing in at 157kgs, this was confirmed by the bodykit manufacture, now this guy is trying something funny, the kit was held in america for a while due to this company not picking up the kit from BRS on agreed times, on a number of occasions when agreed beforehand. when they do decide to pick up with BRS, they cant get the packages on a flight due to a back log of 14days, then they come back to me to say they didnt have the SED declaration of goods so they could ship the packages. OH BOTHER now, today i finally recieve the invoice for the shipping which has risen from £480 to £980 odd. and he has referenced it to his qoute dated on the 19/01/07 when it was agreed a month before, just down to them for dragging their heels, that the kit hasnt been going anywhere. on the new invoive, it is stated the packages weigh at 446kgs say what. it was 157kgs before when packaged up. ive just tried to get my head around what they are doing, i think they are trying to cover some sort of storage for there american counterparts, but all the delay was down to the company ive tried to relate to how the hell a fibreglass and carbon bodykit can weigh 446kgs the ARIEL ATOM weighs in at 456kgs http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/04/colour/red.jpg cant believe these ********* im not impressed, and am not bending over for this[ANGRY][/ANGRY]
mr lover
do they take the volume of the boxes to calculate a weight if they are light for there size?
Chewie
Sounds like your consignment included some illegal immigrants.

SupraAyf
I think you're quite right to hold out on this one Si. If they have already agreed a price then its for them to prove that you owe more money - and for a valid reason which you both agreed upon from the outset of shipping;)
lockys96
the thing is they have reverted to the qoute dated 19/01/07 which is 3days ago, didnt recieve anything through email or any other means of contact, a fax was sent late friday which was picked up today, which is the invoice which is the first ive heard about it
squiffy
sorry to hear this mate, sounded like it was pretty much sorted when i spoke to you the other day. hope it gets sorted
lockys96
sorted now, after a long rip into the guy, and gave him an hour to sort it out or it was going to take legal action. he tried to backup, and dig himself a deeper hole, saying that it was calculated on volume and that was what he qouted. we then received a email showing his qoute he says was sent 29/11/06 and stated the weight of 446kgs, he didnt even have the weights of the packages then, since then the dimensions have also changed from when it was packaged. i cant describe enough detail what has happened, but it ended with the manager of the company coming down, to try and explain, they agreed they were in the wrong, and it has never happened before, the guy qouting and dealing with us was not big enough to own up to his mistakes, looks like he gave a qoute to try and get the deal, and then invoice for something stupid, he has made up bollocks all the way, the manager couldnt be more sorry on how we have been treated, and cant believe the 3months it has dragged on. price of original qoute has been settled and the goods are being delivered tomorrow. i wont be in to see them, but it will be like crimbo when i get home
