180 Speedo Drive

Looking for a 180 speedo drive as the one that I have at present is the converted 320 TRD face or even a damaged speedometer cluster as long as the speedo side is complete.... not sure if it makes a difference on the part I require but I have a facelift Supra.

Thanks Michael

It does make a difference. The facelift models have the odometer in the speedo, so a pre-facelift one won't be any use to you.

Thanks Jake - so even if I just require the needle and it's drive assembly I would still have to make sure it is from a facelift?? (sorry, not sure of the correct terminology for this part)

Well, if 290kph is in the same position on yours as 180mph is on a regular facelift speedo dial I suppose you'll just need a new speedo face.

I don't think the drive assembly is removable from the speedo - not that I've ever tried but it looks like that IIRC

I have spoken to Pete @ Thor today and he was the one suggesting replacing the drive assembly - he seemed to think it was just 3x nuts holding the unit in and that I would need to replace it for a 180 version. Like you I have never done this before so I really don't know either!

If I find the correct solution to this I will post up the results.

Thanks again

Yeah but if 290kph is in the same place as 180mph you wouldn't have to do any of that, it would be a simple dial change.

I see what you are saying, except I have already installed the Thor DSC+TSD unit all nicely soldered and heat shrinked!! so everything on my speedo happens between 7 & 10 o'clock.

Nic

what dials do you do, can you get hold of 200mph or 220mph dials

if so can you pm me some pictures or post up here.

cheers jay

Hi Jay

I don't do dials, but I can supply new OEM Toyota parts including the UK Spec speedos.

If you just need new dials I'd suggest contacting Andy at Miami GT as they supply lots of different kinds.

cheers

Michael if you need a price for a new speedo let me know.

Thanks for the offer:p would really like to keep the original speedo as I have just imported the vehicle and trying to justify mileage later on would be painful.

Can you get any of the speedo parts or just the complete unit?

Michael
