What would you invest those money to and what monthly net income you would expect? So it has to be something to do with saving energy. Start flogging solar panels or wind turbines. Watch Invensys. For some 'strange' reason they've jumped up over the last year. Advanced Power Components has become interesting again. BT recent rises are probably due to the retailing of the BT Hub internet system. Personally I'd stick to utilities and banks. Just look at Severn Trent and Bradford and Bingley!! Premium Bonds! Spend the whole £20K. Max entitlement is £30K. Safe as houses but no guarantee. Any business I'd like to see at least 25% return. I would like to START some small bussines - what would you recomend Was thinking about some small restaurant with specific polish food, my lady would like to see something like hairdressing - what else? jamesmark Posted January 21, 2007 Share Posted January 21, 2007 Most restaurants fail within the first year of opening buisness. £20,000 would not really be a lot to start in that trade with todays prices. I looked into this 2 years ago and the advisor I went to said to start I would need to obtain financial backing of around £100k. With very little rewards but I love cooking. It's very hard work and very long hours. You must be Polish so you may well think Polish food is the best in the Universe but what do the locals think. Do your research. Find out what the natives want. Cabbage soup may not be to their liking. I wouldn't have thought £20K is enough to open up a restaurant unless you're in a partnership. I'm suprised reading this, because actually polish food is not that different from English one - we just actually know how to use salt, pepper and other basic spices On a serious note - you had bad luck to go to crap reastaurant then It is not that easy to find proper restaurant serving good food, but i belive it is like this everywhere. My english friends was rather satisfied when my lady prepared some classic polish food here (no cabbage tho!). Thanks for advice, keep coming ideas!
