Anyone have any f""$king clue who someone can speak to bitch about construction noise...

Was awoken at 8h30 this morning by a F$£$%king pneumatic drill about 5m away from the drive way, with a note put through the door at 9h30...

After blocking the marketing suite with my car, I finally got hold of the site manager who wasn't contactable all morning...

Bastards are going to be continuing tomorrow as well, f"£$"king c"£ts!!!

Problem is 8.30 am isn't early enough to make an issue. Now if it was 6:30 am. You'll have to resort to industrial sabotage of all the construction equipment, drills, JCBs, portaloos etc. You can buy hydrogen peroxide from your local hair dresser supplier. Mix it with chappatti flour and blow the whole place up. If you're lucky you house might be intact. See you in court. Good luck and sweet dreams.

Disclaimer - Dear Mr Constable, I am a law abiding tax paying citizen of the realm. I do not condone acts of terrorsim but I do feel sorry for this fellow Supra owner.

if its a large company they should be part of the considerate constructors scheme. if so then they should have informed you prior before work commences.

http://www.considerateconstructorsscheme.org.uk/home.htm

our company follows this scheme and the people living near by are always informed of any works which may be of a disturbance to them.

if they are part of this then you can comply to the CCS about it

But the barstewards still go ahead and excavate at 8.30am.

'Excuse me sir we will start digging up your road at the crack of dawn. Please go to bed earlier than usual to ensure you get your recommended 8 hours.'

We were notified an HOUR after they started...

When I spoke to the foreman, the response was 'Tough shit, get over it, I can start at 8h30'...

Now, yes legal they are right, but this is NOT the first time we have had issues...

40ton construction traffic on the driveway.... rubble being pushed across the road and blowing into the house... traffic issues...workman swearing at the top of their voices (yes I swear, but not in front the kids, kids don't need to hear it)... Piss up against the wall IN front of all the residents.... the list goes on....

Just final straw stuff.... hydroperoxide?? can't buy a strong enough solution at my local pharmacy......

You're not going to win so if I was you go over to them say you're extremely sorry for losing your temper (practice by watching Jade Goody). And to show how nice you are make them all a piping hot cuppa - laced with Senokot and chocolate fudge cake with real Exlax!! Dosage? As much as they can eat and drink. Jobs a goodun. I guarantee the work will be finished by about 2 pm. Oh by the way, stick a sign on your door saying your toilet is busted.

It's annoying on a Saturday. I've just slept through someone loading a skip at the front, the boy from next door playing the drums and someone building a shed in the next door garden.

The thing that woke me up was my brother and Mike screaming at their Manchester derby on Pro Evo.

Hey Buddy,

found this it may help u out

A certain amount of noise is inherent in most types of construction and building operations, which can rarely be completely prevented. However, noise from construction sites can be very disturbing. The main law used to control construction site noise is the Control of Pollution Act 1974. Normally construction site noise is generated by developers, but statutory bodies such as water and electricity companies, the highway's department and Railtrack might also get involved.

Generally, the acceptable hours for work involving plant and machinery are 0730 - 1800 Monday to Friday and 0800 - 1300 Saturdays. Developers must also demonstrate that they use best practicable means to keep noise to a minimum. No noisy work will normally be permitted on Sundays and bank holidays. Operations outside of these hours may, however, be agreed by the Council if it can be demonstrated that the works cannot be carried out at any other time and that items of plant and equipment are operated and maintained so that their use causes the minimum amount of noise. Emergency works may be carried out at any time, but the developer is still required to keep noise to a minimum.

A bit of notice would have been nice...

Hell, I'm not that unreasonable... All the residents would have said was...

'Okay, how about a deal, don't start at 8h30, rather start at 10h00 so it doesn't disturb the kids, and then we don't mind if you go a little over 13h00...' Which I think is reasonable...

Just get a bit annoyed when I can't even hear a phone call on my doorstep...

these cowboys give us 'real' construction workers a bad reputation. we are not all like that......well im not:)

Taylor woodrow and co...

I know not all construction guys are cowboys... in fact it isn't even the construction guys fault... It is the project manager who told them to do it..

lets be realistic here, i have worked in heavy constuction for the last thirty years, now contruction workers usualy start at 7-7.30am and finish at 6pm with a fifteen minute breakfast break and 30 minute dinner break, its bloody hard graft, i don,t usualy meet the public as i am involved with the big jobs, but i have in the past and as i see it the public can be a bunch of whinging tits sometimes, some office guy with his 9-5 job and an hour for lunch, and hardly ever works a weekend moans that he was woken at 8,30 to a construction guy mmm i could see the outcome:rolleyes:

The odd bit of noise is fair enough, and call me a whinging tit if you wish, but it has been a long list of things...

Builders taking a piss up a wall in front of my 9 and 11 yr old step-daughters is just wrong....and then shouting at the top of their voices 'Fuck off, don't look if you don't want to see it'...

Then not being able to get out of my driveway because they have parked a flatbed with a JCB on it across the front.

The foreman telling me 'tough shit get over it', in ANY job that is unacceptable behaviour....

Rubble on the site has been pushed to within 15m's of the house, and in the summer the dust blew into the houses covering everything...

Still think we are all whinging tits?? Should I also mention that my step-son almost got run over by one of the construction site staff when he was doing a LOT more than the 15mph speed limit...

Site managers not even calling back after leaving messages....

Site staff just throwing cans and rubbish out the car as they drive past the houses.....

Still think I'm whinging tit? I personally would love to go to the project managers house and do that outside his house for 6 months... this has been on going since July 2006...

I don't see your point Gaz. I'm sure it's hard work. I work in an office, and it's no easier. I would love to work your hours. Try 8:30am till 11:00pm 6 days a week. That's hard graft.

I'm sure there are people that whinge. You're always going to get it. However it's one of those jobs that you need to have total consideration for the public. I doubt very much if you would appreciate the same kind of thing right outside your house?

No offence meant gaz, as you are by all accounts a nice guy.. and none of this is personal either...

But I don't work in an office, I'm based from home, and yeah, maybe I get up at 9h30 somedays, maybe 11 others... but my job is results driven not time constraint, so when I do work I do what is required...and yes that means working till 4 in the morning if need be.

Yes, construction is a little more structured when it comes to time, but in my project plans I wouldn't ask builders to work at 3 in the morning...

There is one word that sums it all up... Consideration...

Do you consider notification of work ONE HOUR AFTER they have started as acceptable?

None of this is meant as a personal dig by the way, I'm still pissed about it and some of my anger may come out, but it is not directed at you or your comments, seriously.

Taylor Woodrow are a large company and as such should be registered with the CCS. However, the CCS is a big steaming pile of shite - completely pointless - and any damning reports from them tend to get filed in the bin.

Complain to somebody higher up than the site manager; either the contracts manager or even managing director - what you have stated on here is absolutely disgusting and would not be tolerated by ANY large company; I doubt the people higher-up know what kind of trouble you are having.

Contact them here: http://www.taylorwoodrow.com/3/3qContactUs.html

If there is no joy there, complain to your local authorities and the police (they are liable for public nuisance, not to mention charges against individuals for indecency) and mention to TW that you shall be contacting the local press.
