Yes. My chair's too uncomfortable, the desk's too hard on the forehead and the phones keep ringing. :D Feel for you matey, I used to have all sorts of problems getting to sleep at night. After I started working shifts I learnt how to take advantage of any chance to sleep, regardless of the time.

A mug of hot milk usually works for me

I used to do alternate 12 hour days and nights, that did teach me to sleep, but the whole illness is sorta stoppin me sleeping :)

I'm a terrible sleeper, it always takes me ages to get off, and I'm usually waking up every couple of hours (Never due to bad dreams), so I tend nowadays to compensate for it by trying to have naps whenever I can...

It's getting to the point when I'm thinking about approcahing the docs to see what can be done about it. I wouldn't say it's affecting me in any way, I'm probably used to it by now, but it's just a right royal PITA.

I have had trouble sleeping for a long time now, found myself laying awake for hours.

My missus bought me one of these http://www.lumie.com/bodyclocks.htm Basically, when you are ready to go to sleep, you have the light on the brightest setting and it will gradually get dimmer over half an hour, simulating the sun going down.

When she first gave it to me, I was like, WTF a £60 lamp!!!! But it is brilliant, I am always asleep before the light turns off, result :)

It will also start to turn on half an hour before your alarm goes off, so when you wake up it is at full brightness, simulating the sun coming up, so I wake up alert and haven't used a snooze button since I have had it.

Well recommended.

Yeah, im feeling a bit better today, and managed a few hours sleep :)

Rob,

after all of my problems recently I have not been able to sleep. Spoke to my Doctor yesterday, he gave me some sedatives and I slept well last night. Needed it

Glad to hear you are able to get some rest Tom, i had been through a similar (though not as bad) experience and i think thats what triggered this illness/lack of sleep off.
