Dnk
Does anyone have a diagram of the heater system, had a new matrix fitted around 1yr ago, whole system flushed through no probs. Now i have a small amount of gurgleing coming from the dash implying air in the matrix, also now i can only get slightly warm air out of it with temp control on max have bled and bled the system to no avail. The pipe ive arrowed is the return from the matrix ? this isnt getting hot but the feed into the matrix is. No other issues with the car ie engine coolant temp spot on, its not losing coolant Any help greatly appreciated dunk

Dnk
Top up the coolant through this pipe directly. Thanks for that info i'll try and see if that does the trick. Im sure there isnt a blockage as its had a new matrix and the whole system was flushed out thoroughly and all looked like very clean coolred when it was drained. Also had a new radiator at the same time. Now ive got the workshop manual i'll be checking to see if the valve on the back of the matrix is working which i think might be the problem. If it is it'll more than likely to be a dash out job again unless i can get at it by removing the glove box.
megawatts
Fancied your blue pipes... I have bled and flushed until I am as blue as your pipes..Why is this MkIV so prone to this heat or lack of it problem. Got almost half the dash out.. What is the reason for this vale not working??? Dnk
Usually down to a blockage either in the pipework or the heater matrix itself, afraid mine is in need of further investigation as we went through all the fault codes etc and everything is working. Take off the heater pipes near the bulkhead and try putting a garden hose on one and see if you have a flow of water through the matrix.
megawatts
Taken the pipes off, and used lots of descaler crystals, to flush things out, and flushed both wasy with hot water. I am getting water flow... Still a freezing cold car. Jacked up the car about 30 degrees, and ran for a while to bleed off any airlocks. Changed the heater control electronics in the dash. The error codes still show no error. Still a cold car. But still using only water, as obvioulsy dont want to flush out good Toyota Red fluid. Where is this flap.. how much more do I have remove.. or is a full dash out to get at this? I have taken a heater matrix out of my old MK3.. not willing to do again.. in MKIV
