TTC mod with Apexi power FC

I am planning on doing the TTC mod shortly to get myself used to the power delivery of a single or big twins on the 2JZ.

I read that Nic tweaked his Emanage to get rid of the characteristics of the sequential system and as such got some very interesting results in this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=95061&page=2

I would like to get a similar setup. I am not really fussed about being able to switch back to sequential so don't really need ETTC.

My question is: Should I get the ECU remapped or is there a simple way to tweak it to be more suited to the TTC setup?

Should I expect power gains? I can't work out if there is any reason for losing power due to the sequential system but I'm not exactly an expert on it!

Thanks in advance :)

Surely tweaks to the original map would suffice though?

Why do people do this mod with no fuelling control if you need a remap to cope? Surely it wouldn't run right?

It seems from previous threads that people have been very disappointed with TTC and ETTC mods. I think its personal choice but i would agree with your thoughts on tweaking the original map first as that should do the trick nicely.

I perhaps take things to the extreme where I would have things remapped for changing two extra nuts and bolts - not always the best thing to do so go with the slight tweaking option mucka!!:)

Depends on what you mean by tweaking and what people mean by remapping. You can do good stuff to just a BPU Supra using an E-Manage, i.e. bring the AFRs down from the tens and control the fuelling properly above 1 bar. With TTC mode you should be able to do timing related stuff to increase off-boost power and also make sure it doesn't go lean around 3500rpm. You can also put in a safety net for any boost spiking by pulling timing at high boost.

Call that a tweak, call it a remap, whatever. But no, if you don't do something to cope with TTC it won't run right :)

Yep defiantly good gains to be had by adjusting the STD ECU settings with emanage/PFC or other, you only have to think about it logically to see where things are not suited to TTC,

the STD map sees no1 turbo making boost 1800-2000 rpm so you have more fuel and less timing advance that is needed in TTC mode, as your not making boost until after 2,500 rpm, and as the whole map goes very rich higher up the rpm/boost range.
