RobSheffield
Iv had a little search, and can only see reference to folk taking the car to CW or Pheonix for this job. If i buy the seal, how hard is it to change? I imagine ill need to borrow a seal puller of some sort. Car is on axle stands at the mo so access isnt a problem, but getting to a garage is

Chris Wilson
I made a puller for the gearbox prop flange, without one you'll probably bend / break / bugger the flange trying to get it off. I have seen several attempts at this without a proper tool, all have been sad to see and expensive to fix.
RobSheffield
I may attempt to discuss it with my local friendly Toyota dealer, or await it being finished, mapped, MOT'd and on the road
dan4
are you sure its leaking and not the selector seal? I replaced mine and its dry as a bone now but it did look like it was leaking from rear main as it runs down and the prop acts as a fan for it lol
dan4
my local mr t quoted me silly money as they wanted to take my to take my tubbies off for some unknown reason?????? oh and its meant to have 75/90 oil!
RobSheffield
I wil of course be looking at the selector seal when the time comes, it does appear to be 'fanned' around the transmission tunnel
dan4
double check mate clean it all off and run it up on axle stands it should start to weep which you'll see on a white latex glove if you can wangle your finger along the shaft its a damn sight easier than changin the rear main i imagine
