maybe it is time to have a thread or section specifically for a 'name my/that part'.

or, if you are looking for something specific you can ask if anyone has a photo to help. would be handy to get told 'you need a ..... here is a photo, hope that helps'.

That way if you have a broken part or need a replacement you can take a photo and ask what it is. or someone may have a photo of the part, and you can use that when asking for something. would stop some confusion of misnamed parts etc.

i know not everyone has a digital camera, or quick access to photo processing, but would it not be time for photos to be included in all/most for sale threads so everyone knows what they are actually buying.

ok, a lot of us know each other, or know someone that has dealings and so we can make good choices, but someone new won't have any idea about past history etc.

my usual disclaimer, this is not specific to this thread, but general observations having read this thread

Well I am hacked off with everyone forming an opinion of me based on hearsay.

I am trying to help someone out with breaking a car, I ask for skirts I get skirts, I never ever meant to misrepresent something.

AFAIC they are skirts they are stock and I made sure he was aware of this! I am quite happy to give a refund but I dont see why I should bullied into it. The amount of refund is something I will have to discuss with the lad whos car it is, I only dealt with the matter as he is not a member.

If I saw this coming I would not have bothered in the first place.

I remember in summer lots of people getting quality bits off a car I travelled a long way to break, does anyone remember that do they fuck.

So the Prof didn't know what to call the side pods and thought they were side shirts... boromfccup offered £130 (as per 'the going rate' for said item), then received a grotty looking side pod and understandably 'not happy'...

Easy mistake to make.. the Prof didn't know what the part was called, or what the going rate was.... although admittedly the part did look in a nasty condition, I've seen some other fairly nasty items changing hands for a lot more money than this..

OK, can we wrap this up guys before it gets stupid...?

As I said very early on before all the banter "I suspect a case of mistaken wording."

"Skirts" is definitely the wrong word dude.

Skirts run the full length of the car wheel to wheel. Maybe if the black bits that run under the car were included they should be called sill covers?

As for the price, well anything is only worth what the buyer is prepared to pay. (Assuming an accurate description of course).

[edit : oh, another 5 posts have appeared quick.]

Ever the comedian

I fail to see the comedy in CJ's statement. I am pretty sure it is the same thing just about everyone who is viewing this thread is also thinking. If it was you who had received the item I am pretty sure you would want the same.

Has anyone mentioned the bit about him not turning up to the Christmas party yet?

:p

*waves* I see you down there reading Prof ;)

Yes you have mentioned it several times and I will buy you a big cup of coffee as well as monkey mark (I think) when we are next at squires, to make up for the sadness you must be feeling....

Oh how is your centre section I got for you or RedM hatch rubber?

I don't even own a supra and i know what the side skirts are, i also know what the side VENTS are. This is obviously a very unfortunate position and could have been avoided if the naive person had asked for pics because...

1 They are so shabby they are fit for nothing but the scrap yard

2 they are seriously overpriced

and

3 they are the wrong part.

The fact that you are a Moderator of sorts is even

more scary.

Of course, this is all from a newbies point of view. Mine.
