AJI
Have any of you guys actually got your insurance company to agree on the price of your Supra (or any car) during your insurance cover period? Insurance companies used to allow you to state the market value of your vehicle according to what you valued it at.... and then they adjust you premium to suit. Now all they state is that if the worst should happen all you will get is THEIR market value estimate, which 15 times out of 10 is a good few £1000 short of the true value of your car. I have no idea why on most quotes that you do you have to state what you paid for your car because this has no meaning when it comes to them putting their own value estimate onto it. I rang my insurance up the other day and no matter what I tried to do they wouldn't entertain the idea of coming to an agreement on what the current value of my car, according to me, would be. Why insure your car or any item for way less then the value that you yourself place on it ???? I can see why a lot of people drive uninsured. uk-rich
yes they do, it costs a extra £35, which i think is ok in the bigger picture if the worst was to happen
Angarak
Lancaster Insurance also offer an 'agreed value' on your car for a little extra on your premium.
KaoriFan
sky are great for agreed value, it does cost 35gbp. but the peace of mind is worth it. you just need to fill in a form with the value you want, send some photos and they will do the rest. and they are very helpful with any questions you may have. ja ne Ian
AJI
thanks for the info guys. It must be the internet only insurance companies that won't agree values. I'm currently with Elephant.co.uk and Egg.com (neither will agree a value).
