Copper grease up the threads on those things mate, otherwise a couple of weeks of wet roads will let the spring platforms corrode onto the body of the strut and then if you ever wanted to move them, they will have to be cut off and new ones sourced. Found that out the hard way.

Ideally, you should move the platforms and grease under where they will be fixed too.

are they better than teins?

Don;t know actually, i have no experience with Tein.

I think you can;t go wrong with the Tein suspension, a lot of people on this forum and supraforums.com like them.

But i can;t give you proper advise about it. I wanted a set for street and semi track use.

Hows the ride?

Really good, for so far i can judge (only drove for 120 miles), Not all the roads in holland are smooth but i don;t get any weird bonky noises from the set and i have noticed that the car is much more stable in the corners.

Aii i thought that wasn;t needed to do. But on all that grease will stick dirt and will the dirt not eat into the aluminium?

Better to have the dirt sticking to the outside of the grease, than it is to have the dirt and water getting around the threads and directly onto the body of the strut.

If you have to get replacement platforms, they are around £45 a pair and are about an 8 week leadtime from the states. Unless you get ectremely lucky and find the one HKS dealer in the Uk that I didn't try.
