Yeah 3 months ago but been hearing about these rx7s and they sound pretty good but the problem about them is the engine rebuild every 75000 miles.

I'm thinking of getting one as well, just before the summer time, keeping the supra as well though :eyebrows: . Should have enough time to research about the rex's thoroughly by then. Don't like the RX8's as much as the 7's.

Good luck with your search :)

Youll find a rx7 a very different car.

A rx7 is certainly a more focused drivers car , you want find the refinement or creature comforts you get with a supra. But i guess it depends on the type of driver you are.

One of the key advantages over a supra is weight, rx7s are very light , helped by the rotary engine. Performance is very good, even from standard , but if you go single your looking at a solid 350-450bhp which in anybodys book is quick for an rx7. But one thing to be aware of is reliability with a higher performance (singleturbo) rx7 will be worse than a 500bhp supra.

With regards to engines, tbh its a lottery i know of cars that have reached 80000 but iv also had rx7s let go on me with only 10000miles on it. If you look after them then yes you will get better engine life. Cost of rebuild , depending on spec your looking at 2-3k if you go to a tuner. Or if you attempt yourself , which more and more people are doing including myself your looking at 1-1.5k depending on what you replace.

If you want more info check out mazdarotaryclub.com they are an ok bunch..and there are quite a few memebers in london.

If i was you my choice would depend on the useage it would get , if i wanted a car i could drive fast but also have the ability to drive in some refinement during the week or on long trips i would stick with the supra. If you want something that is purely a weekend toy or track toy then i would seriously think about an rx7

Also not sure how tall you are.. but they are rather cramped!

The prices have/are seriously droping so its a good time to buy . 10-11k will get you a very very nice single turbo , and 6-7k will get you a very nice std twin rx7. Beware of cheaper rx7s on the market ie single turbos at 6k... yes they may ne cheap to buy but you will have a nightmare when it comes to reliablilty
