Aerotop Dave
Was browsing Newera's site and read this under a Supra they are importing: At present, this is the last VVTi 6 Speed Supra to be imported to the UK for the foreseeable future, now that the "disabled loophole" has been closed by VOSA. The "disabled loophole" was closed as of 1 April 2004, so only VVTi Supras for which SVA tests were pre booked prior to 1 April 2004 (Such as this particular example) will be able to undergo SVA test without a model report. Therefore, when this one's gone, we will not be able to buy any further post Jan 1997 Supra examples for stock until a model report becomes available. However, the interesting bit was here: This Supra is to be sent to the UK for usual preparation ASAP, then testing and making of a report so that further VVTi 6 Speed Supras can be imported in the future. This is expected to add 4-6 weeks to preparation in the UK. So does that mean that Newera are taking it on themselves to get the facelifted Supra a report or will they make this available to everyone? Either way, looks like there might still be at least one route to get Supras imported. BTW, there was similar blurb under a few other cars as well, so looks like Newera are planning a bit of an assault on the new import regs... Darren
Well if they want to keep on trading they will have to get some 'model reports' or they'll have nothing much to sell!!
