paul ashton
There seems to be a flu like virus going round Blackpool at the moment, bad head, chest, loss of voice etc+lasts for days or even weeks.Virtually everyone i know has either got it or had it recently.Just wondering if it is a local thing or is it in other parts of the country as well? Charlotte
Mike and I both had it over Christmas. I was in Middlesbrough at the time but didn't do anything at New Year at all cause we were both so ill. I can honestly say I haven't felt so bad in years. Fever, weakness the works. sdavies
Pretty much everyone I know in Cardiff came down with this (or something like it). Quite a few here in Reading have shown signs of it or know someone with it. Something whalloped me for six for the last few days - it started with sore throat, then headache, weakness, sore eyes, dizzyness - thought it was a cold, but nothing snotty came of it, followed by a fever, shivering, body aches, mostly cleared up after 2 days but the feckin sore throat just will not go - I am not normally one to suffer flu either. Babe
Had it for 3 weeks over Christmas, was nasty... was as rife up here (Lancashire/Merseyside) as it was in Hertfordshire.
steb9780
Just wondering if it is a local thing or is it in other parts of the country as well? No it just applies to the people that are bumming donkeys There is always some kind of virus that goes around in the winter, I had a similar thing last year. Angarak
I had it just before New Years, sounded like Barry White for a bit too - still getting over the bad chest I had with it.

It's true what he says, bum donkey's and you will be ill. However, the thing that is going about at the moment makes donkey bumming sickness seem like a stroll in the park. My first day back to work today after most of last week off and my daughter has been really ill with it. Also see Sheefa's thread in off topic. Pot
It's rife in Bristol and Cheltenham, both ripe places for bumming donkeys...
