merckx
Is it possible to have individual cells with shading to identify them that doesn't appear when you print a hard copy? Thanks
Jake
Not sure what you mean by 'shading to identify them' Do you want the shading to indicate the ones that aren't printed? If you just want them not to be shown you could change the font to white or put the cells in a hidden column. The shading thing makes me think you don't mean that though
JustGav
Move them outside your print area?.. I know what you are getting at, you want the data visible on the screen, put not on the print out...
merckx
Just shading to identify the location of a cell amongst loads of blank cells. I'll be typing something in the cell then printing it out, but it could be a different cell every time. I just want data to appear and nothing else, I thought there might be a way of highlighting the possible cells that I might use.
JustGav
You could maybe do a macro which hides a few columns and rows when you click print, and then unhides them afterwards... bit messy but it would work.
razza
not sure if it'll do what you need, but you could insert a comment in the cell, which'll show the small red flag in the corner of the cell but won't show up on the print out. You don't need to type anything in the comment either.

razza
or use conditional formatting on the cells and remove it before printing, then click on undo to get the formatting back...
