Bottom Crank pulley

Yes my pulley came off the other day sending me into a lamp post because of lack of power steering when i put it on here people were writing that they had squeeky belts noise an they realised that there pulley was coming off too. So when i read that u was looking for pulley on here cause u had heard this problem it was possibly cause someone read my thread an it started like that.

Well its a good job i let people no this fact at the cost of my front end so that u lot don't have to

 

To elaborate on Jake's Huh? It has been common knowledge for many years that the dampener can brake up, due to age or application of heat by spanner monkeys. I thing your post just confirms what the majority already knew.

still looking for a pulley, cant seem to get in contact with lee currently

for a part that is prone to breaking up with age/heat etc is it not worth buying a new one, peace of mind and all that

out of interest, apart from the squeeking, are there any visual signs that can be checked for?

 

I'd be interested to keep an eye on mine, as our cars reach a certain age I guess it's quite common for the stock original pully to be reaching that time

the engine is used in a track car, so its , given very regular visual inspections, and to be honest i need the pulley to do some calculations and move the car around while it is undergoing a bit of a rebuild
