NUTKIN
Yes my pulley came off the other day sending me into a lamp post because of lack of power steering when i put it on here people were writing that they had squeeky belts noise an they realised that there pulley was coming off too. So when i read that u was looking for pulley on here cause u had heard this problem it was possibly cause someone read my thread an it started like that. It has been common knowledge for many years that the dampener can brake up, due to age or application of heat by spanner monkeys. I thing your post just confirms what the majority already knew. chilli
out of interest, apart from the squeeking, are there any visual signs that can be checked for? I'd be interested to keep an eye on mine, as our cars reach a certain age I guess it's quite common for the stock original pully to be reaching that time
2JZ-GTE-IS200
mine start3ed chewing up the edge of the belt, then when i started it the other week, it jumped of the pulley as the pulley moved towards the front of the car...
2JZ-GTE-IS200
for a part that is prone to breaking up with age/heat etc is it not worth buying a new one, peace of mind and all that the engine is used in a track car, so its , given very regular visual inspections, and to be honest i need the pulley to do some calculations and move the car around while it is undergoing a bit of a rebuild
