She calls me 'sad' because I've been to meets and join in on the forums, she'll certainly have a different opinion when I print and bring all your wishes for her recovery to her tomoz afternoon. :)

I hope Emily gets well soon.

When she's recovered you should bring her to one of the meets then she might realise that you are not sad and actually all a meet is is a group of barking mad people meeting up ;)

Best wishes to you both and her family.

Best wishes mate, and hope Emily is on the road to recovery.

I hardly ever take any time off work for being sick, probably about 6 days in seven years, but this is my 4th day off this week because of this thing. I returned home from working in Nice on Monday and by the time I had driven home from the airport it was all my effort to walk from the car to the house. I am now coughing up stuff you would pay loads for in a French sea food restaraunt. My daughter has been to the Docs twice and both she and one of my lads is on antibiotics from where it has gone down to their chest. Sure in time she will be fine and she is in the best place.

Thanks guys!

Good news. She's out already, but under careful monitoring. I'd prefer them to keep her in tbh, but she has been asked to report back for checks every other day over the next 10 days. Signed off work for 2 weeks.

Very pleased, just need to keep an eye on her.

Shame as today is our 1 year anniversary - not that we're fucking married of course! :)

I think you should read this - http://www.new-life.net/faq605.htm

Pete, I am very curious, did you post that link because you go along with those views generally, or as a bit of fun?

Sheefa, real good news mate, sure she will be fine now. My daughter spent the night up keydoc the emergency Drs in my area because she now has infected sinus's and kept throwing up. They administered some stuff via her gums.....which I found a bit strange but she is already showing signs of improvement and is back home now. This thing is a real nightmare

I'm a very religious person.

I'll religiously drink when I get home, religiously have sex every night*, religiously eat as much as I can cram into my body.

I fear if I went into a church I may spontaneously combust.

*I wish. Ok, at least twice a weekend.

Thanks Shane and hope all goes well with your daughter too mate. Stomach bug or something more severe?

Pete - sick, sick mind. Twice a weekend is all good mate. Just keeps the 'old ticker' going huh? :)

No I think it is along the same lines as your bird and me, and loads of other people seem to have had. Started with loads of aches and pains, and then went to some extreme flu like thing. In her case she seemed to recover a bit and then all of a sudden went down hill again rapidly complaining of extreme headache and couldn't stop coughing, almost uncontrolablly and coughed so much eventually making her self sick. They told her up at keydoc that loads of people around here are down with it and to be honest mate you are not too far away eh?

I have been off work now for 4 days and this is unheard of for me, but am on the mend for sure.

Anyhow, glad it's going better now for Emily, have a good weekend.

Oh and Pete, you are a very sick, sad man and remind me to get you put on the mailing list for the bible society. My ex missus was a god botherer, what a nightmare that all was! Actually, maybe I should pass on your details to her and tell her that you are ripe for conversion:eyebrows:

I have no recollection of your name or face I'm afraid Pete, Peter? Your existence is futile.

Shane, yep they're th symptoms she had mate. Keep an eye on your daughter, and yourself pal! It's dangerous these days with so many Q&As around developing symptoms - self diagnosis and all. Have a great weekend yourself pal and hope you feel as right as rain soon, and your daughter. :)

Greg

PS: Pete tried to kiss me at the Christmas do.

I dont know whether this has been covered in this thread as I only read the first post. Whilst Meningitus is aserious condition, there i alot hype about how it is spread. Some years ago I deal with sseveral cases of Meningitus. I made visits to home and met with all relatives with close contact. I was not that concerend thatI would catch it as the risk to those in close contact is not that much higher than the general population. Meningitus is carried harmlessly by a significant number of the population with them never showing any symptoms. It is when your immune system is weakened that you become susceptible. It is quite common in Universities a large number of students lead a life style that plays havoc with their immune system.

I hope Emily is Ok now.
