Chewie
I've got a company Amex card. Only good as an ice scraper. Hardly anybody accepts it due to their exorbitant charges. Do youself a favour and get a cash back credit card.
DaveK
Waste of time. I did have one, hardly used it because nobody took it. I cancelled it when I suddenly got a paper bill (it had always been electronic before that) and called them because I was worried that something had changed on my account which hadn't been initiated by me. There attitude was kind of "yeah, whatever" - so I cancelled my card. You may want to check your credit score - maybe you have black marks against it you dont' know about. Bob
Never had any problems with mine, though I downgraded from the platinum to the green as I couldn't justify the annual cost against the amount of travelling I was doing. I find it very handy for Paypal, but brilliant abroad. Always had excellent service as well.

Got one of those nectar ones and they gave me a mental limit on it, paid for our holiday on it but do struggle to use it anywhere on the high street. I found them to have good service too. Yeah I will check my credit score, I work in a bank and I've never had bad credit, it said on the letter their are no derogatory records just the scores not high enough. But I've had a few credit cards and a mortgage offer so dunno how to get the score higher?
jamesmark
http://www.experian.co.uk and http://www.equifax.co.uk If you have a mortgage offer within last six months a credit check for a mortgage takes a lot off your score, your credit history gets refreshed after 6 months but might not change a great deal. When doing your credit score I would get the online one as it is a lot better and easy to understand I have become quite an expert on sorting out credit problems as with mine I would not even get a loan of a book from the library. supRo
My Mrs works for them I used to work for them too! On my Amex card application, where it had "Employer.." I put down "you"! Amex is fussy about credit scores. If you are ever invited to receive one of their Centurion cards (Black and made of titanium) then your credit score is probably 1,000000+++! jamesmark
Anything over 950 with Experian and anything iirc 490 with equifax should get you accepted with 95% lenders.
