Nathman Posted January 11, 2007 Share Posted January 11, 2007 Afternoon all, Before I get flamed, I have tried a search but came up inconclusive:D I have just bought a set of wheels and need to know what size tyres to ask for. They are 19" with a 10.5" rear and 9.5" front. The car is sitting very low at the moment and has 17", with 40 profile on the rear and 45 on the front currently, with no rubbing. Also, should the rusty ass nuts on my existing wheels be ok for the time being until I can get hold of some nice shiny new ones? I have been offered 295/35 ZR 19's for the rears and 275/30 ZR19's for the fronts, Toyo tyres. Do these sound right? merckx Posted January 11, 2007 Share Posted January 11, 2007 It depends on the offset of the wheels too, you might get rubbing especially on the front where you don't need that width of tyre. 245/35 19 on the front is all you need. 285/30 19 on the rear. The width measurement should be taken in-between the outer rim/flange, so only the flat part when you look from top and the wheels are vertical. I say this as I made this mistake recently I run 235/45/19 & Goodyear F1 Eagle GSD3 275/30/19. Depends on offset but 285 is probably max on rear without problems. If you're not running big power then 275 on the back will be fine. My car is lowered, I have no probs on the back. The front tyres rub with the front of the arch lining only on full lock. As for the nuts - It depends on the wheels. I had to use different nuts when I moved from my 18"s to 19"s. Your car height will probably go up slightly.
