Chris Wilson
Looking for rolling shell to build a racecar. Must be original paint, zero, meaning no, none, zilch, rust underneath, and no damaged repaired please. Pay cash and collect if the car is right. Don't need engine or gearbox. If it's a GTR it will be converting to RWD anyway. Need to see detailed photos of sill returns and chassis rails underneath, these must be as new, no jacking or transit damage please. Will pay sensible money for the right shell. Thanks. [email protected]
Guru
Oooo building a beast for yourself Chris? Is this replacing the one you 'scuffed' a few months back?
Guest Terry S
Chris on your travels, I need a good auto box for a R33 GTS if you find a reasonably priced one.
Tom
Don't suppose in the not so distant future you'd be intersted in a bare RX7 shell would you Chris? mine's almost at that stage now.
Bobbeh
Why is the paint condition important on a car thats gonna be used for racing?
Pete
Erm.... what have you done with the last one? Why is the paint condition important on a car thats gonna be used for racing? It's not the condition so much as the originality I think. I guess a respray could be indicative of previous damage repair.
Chris Wilson
I sold a 20,000 miler auto box last year, I had it for ages. Ask on the Sklyline forum, someone will have one from converting a manual, like I did. The one that got damaged at Oulton is now as good as new again, I really want another shell to get a full cage in, yet be able to use this one whilst it's being done. Original paint means no accident damage, bog or other nasties. A decent cage xcosts 3.5 K, so I don't want to spend a load of money on a car that's started to rust. It'll be stripped to bare metal anyway, but safest way to find an unbuggered about rust free car is an original paint fresh import that hasn't seen salt, that's blown up due to excess boost bravado. Bobbeh
But the way you drive them Chris I didnt think accident damage was that important j/k I always think about respraying parts to tidy up bodywork, but then dont bother because I think about all the track sessions I will be doing and the slight risk of impact
Jezz
I've got a pretty much undamaged 33GTR shell. Just a dent in the boot lid. Would have to be JUST a race car though as its a break only. Was a very low mileage car too. Paintworks very clean. This was a static theft, so engine, interior etc stripped in situ.
