Guest Mike Leavy
Hi guys. Thinking of fitting UK brakes to my 99 J spec Any idea who can do this, roughly how much it costs and also will they be ok if I also fit BBS RKII 18" alloys? Assume someone must have already done this?
richy2jz-gte
hasnt the the face lift j-spec already got uk spec breakes:conf:
Guest Mike Leavy
does it? first I've heard of it. I'd have thought unlikely since mine actually has 16" facelift wheels (fairly rare but did happen occasionally). Anyone know the answer? Zed
Should be pretty obvious from looking at the existing brakes. If they have a flat surface with the 'supra' logo on them then they're uk spec brakes. The calaipers look like they are one big solid peice as opposed to the j-spec ones which look like they're made of a couple of pieces. Hope this helps
Darren
If it came with 16inch wheels you have J spec brakes... I think the last group buy for UK fronts was about £550? Then some braided lines would be nice £50 and then some pads and decent fluid...Any garage should be able to swap the disks and calipers fairly quickly...HTH

The facelift RZ-S does not (unless they have been added).
Guest Mike Leavy
ahhh. thats probably the answer then. U know if 18" BBS RXII's will fit over UK brakes if I upgrade? Any idea what size spacesaver wheel I would also need?
dangerous brain
Standard space saver should fit shouldn't it?? And yes I have a set of virtually new front UK brakes for sale when I get them off the car. I also have to get the passenger side disc checked as its been sat on it for a while. SimonB
Yes, the standard spacesaver will fit. Don't know about the BBSs, sorry. They're not on the list of wheels known to fit, but that just means that nobody has got any and bigger brakes.
dangerous brain
See if you can borrow a rim, Find a local member with UK brakes Take the wheel over and see if it fits!!!
