michael
I need to tax a car that has been SORN for a while, if I go into the Post Office to do this when will the tax start from? Am I likely to need any special forms or additional info to do this? I don't have any SORN doc with the car, just an MOT and insurance. Class One
Have you lost the SORN document? You'll need a V5 MOT and Insurance and tax will start from the beginning of the month. So if you tax it today, it will start from 01January.
michael
Have you lost the SORN document? The chap I got the car from seems to have done. I'm still waiting for the insurance certificate to come through so I might be able to make it until Feb Cheers!
Supra_Star
Are sure that the vehicle was definately SORNed. If yes then all you need to do is Tax it from 1st of which ever relevant month. If No then DVLA will fine you for time you have owned vehicle for the period not taxed. Check out their website if you need further info http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp Hope this helps
