the guy who i got mine from has 5 or 6 in stock from HK so no need for a step down transformer :) not cheap though, with 1 game it was £600 but then again its gonna be close to £500 for the 60gb one anyway over here (it is the 60gb as well)

i have just got a few games for mine and it is pretty good and grand turismo demo looks amazing, cant wait till the full game comes out

Unless you want an illegally imported one.

One of them will do, preferably a US one because the HK releases and EUR releases have/will have (when its released in EUR) censorship built into the unit to minimise the gore in certain games ie Resistance. You can put the same game in either a HK ps3 or US ps3 and the HK ps3 somehow makes it not as violent with less blood and gruesome scenes etc. Same goes for when its released here. Confirmed on all major ps3 websites. Can supply a link if needs be.

So i'd sooner import one or buy a US one already in this country cuz I dont see why I should pay the same amount for a game when its gonna be semi censored.

However, if the above is untrue and its just the yanks wanting to big up their US release of the machine then I apologise for the misleading info.

mkirby, I've also read ps3's have transformers built into the unit. You just need a kettle lead for the 3pin plug...?

MONKEYmark, if he wants to sell it and make some profit let me know ;)

Umm, after reading up abit more I think i'll wait for the UK version.

Another reason why I was gonna get a PS3 was because my ps2 has been playing up just recently (It is over 5 yrs old) so thought if I got a PS3 I could still use my ps2 games. Not if its US or japanese though. The PS3 is region free ie a US game will play fine on a EUR system but a Pal ps2 game will not play on a US/Jap ps3. Strange conidering they're region free. Guess its something to do with the ps2 discs.

Heres the screen you get if you try:
