acc belt

I would prob leave it in situ, if only because you will not have to fuff about getting a new smaller sized belt.

I have to use a smaller then normal belt because of my PHR alt. I can probably get the correct size over here in the UK, but for the moment I have to rely on getting my spare or replacement acc. belt from Dusty in the States.

I have recently found a place in the UK the makes belts, I will try them next time.

I have the relevant Gates belt in my garage if you want me to give you the number? The number stated on the MVP website is for a US belt kit that isn't available in the UK, but you don't need to get the belt from the US. Cost me just under £11.

I thought that was the smaller one for the undersized pulley?

Cheers mate, that would be great if you could give me the number for the future. :)

ps. Am i correct in saying that the a/c compressor doesnt put load on the engine if it is not switched on? The outter ring of the pulley seems to spin freely with quite minimal resistance.

That's right. It has a magnetic clutch and the pulley just 'free-wheels' when the clutch isn't engaged.
