jamesmark
I think you will need to buy the minimum subscription.

Jake
Can you get cable? Ntl or Telewest will give you free cable tv with about 40 channels if you change to their phone service. It's £11 a month for the phone which is cheaper than BT

JustGav
Hmmm, I've still got my old sky box sat in one of the kids rooms, connected to a dish, and they get all the free to air channels.. I'll have to pull out the card and see if they stay on..
Pixelfill
I'm sure I saw a satellite freeview box and dish package the other day, I'll have a think to see if I can remember where. edit: I'm almost certain it was in our local B&Q Warehouse, a quick check online doesn't show anything though - sorry can't be of any more help. Someone on here works for Sky though (is it Daston) maybe he could help. Mike
kghelmet
sky do a one off package for freeview for about £150 or if you already have a box you can buy a freeview card from sky for £15 and thats it no more to pay.

However, If you've left an old Sky box out of commission for a year or two because you upped to Sky+ like my bro did, it won't work any more. Presumably there have been too many upgrades. I tried his old Sky box in my setup when mine was playing up.
