Rico2006
Just fitted a set of Dare Hiro's 19's - pleased with the result... However, putting the tools away, realised by spare wheel is a 17". What do you guys do - can i get a spacesaver 19 or do i just hope a can of tyre-weld will be ok. Thanks
uk-rich
the rolling circumference should be the same, or nearly
alan_blue
yeah will be fine mate, where did you get your rims from?
cashpoint
unless the spare is rock hard the rolling radius will be way out, you can just about get away on 18" with the 17" spare but not recommended but with 19" i get one of the cans that can seal small leaks...... saves weight too. tooquicktostop
I am in the same situation and have a can of stuff, but I dred a puncture as it is not well received by the police if you dont have a spare on the motorway, I have thought about carrying a space saver 18" but it takes so much space
supRo
By using Tyre weld, does it render the tyre useless for a permanent repair? Not that you should be using repaired tyres on a fast car?

Not that you should be using repaired tyres on a fast car? Yes i think you are right it is not repairable after, but as you say would you have a puncture repair on a high BHP car, especially with low profile 19" tyres
Rico2006
So tyre weld it is. I purchased the Rims from Ebay. No idea if it was a good price or not, but they were in stock, with tyres and very shiny. They also suit the drift look i was going for ( or as some call it, the Taxicab look ) I certainly wouldnt risk repairing a tyre. its a false economy when playing for your life. Jake
unless the spare is rock hard the rolling radius will be way out, you can just about get away on 18" with the 17" spare but not recommended but with 19" Sorry but that's completely wrong. The diameter of the wheel makes no difference to the rolling radius if the correct size tyres are fitted to the new wheels. Also, whether the spare has the correct pressure or is 'rock hard' makes no odds to the rolling radius.
