So if I forced iTrader to require a link back to a thread in the for sale forums we could affectively block traders from using the iTrader system. This would mean the iTrader system is purely for private sales. Then introduce a forum for trader complaints as described above and members can use that to see if a traders has a good reputation or not. This should stop traders trying to keep a 100% iTrader rating (as they wont have one) and should mean members are more happy to post complaints as the trader cannot leave a negative iTrader rating for them and the masses cannot join in the thread to stir up trouble.

Sounds like the most suitable solution to me.

The beauty of it is that most traders here are also active members, they can still advertise items for sale like the rest of us and in turn gain iTrader feedback, the forum rewards them with iTrader for using the forum, if they want a rating system for deals done outside of mkivsupra.net they can implement one themselves ;)

The idea of limiting input to those actively involved in a trade can only be a good thing surely?

I guess we can agree to disagree on this. :) A deal to me is struck on the basis of an agreement to purchase and sell like with ebay). Face to face this would be agreed with a handshake (like when you buy a car). The deal is concluded when money and parts actually change hands.

Also, breaking a 'gentlemans agreement' shows a very poor business ethic and downright bad manners. I personally would not deal with someone who displays this trait.

One thing you may have overlooked, which I offer for your consideration. Your property is yours until someone pays you for it in full. If someone wants to chage their mind and keep an item they had wished to sell then it their right to do so. The idea is go buy it and then they is no problems. This "i'll see you next week", is where the problems start. I often have customers who come in, say I want that, ask me to leave it over for them, and dont come back or change their mind, leaving me high and dry as a seller at work. Legally, if they have paid a deposit, I can take action against them to complete the deal (have never done so), as they would have enetered into contract. However, if no money changes hands then tough on me, it was heresay only.

Thats just my 10p's worth. Personally I have always sold what I agreed to, but if someone decided to keep something I had made no contract (deposit) on then I would respect their title of ownership that it was theirs bought and paid for and thats the privilege of ownership.

Sure that idea is fine with me, but you would have to remove ITrader ratings altogether for traders to be a fair system.

Gaz.

I can see where you're coming from, but would you take the same view if your supplier said 'sorry mate, I've cancelled your order 'cause I can get more for them off Mr X'? If your

goods are on credit (ie you haven't paid up front) he's got every legal right to do so. I suspect you'd be livid. I know I would be.

Of course, if you pay on order that's different.

Not trying to get up your nose, just discussing:) :)

I think the people who complain to the Mods are wasting their time to be honest, I know I have brought this up several times and others more so but the fact the forum STILL has a GT CARS trade banner stinks in my opinion, this company has screwed people over and then they have come on here making false promises and still we allow the advert to new members to appear, is this a traders forum or an owners forum, I dont know anymore

Waits to get shot down!!!!
