JamieP
A good friend of mine has just done a full rebuild on his skyline gtr and has very high oil pressure (8bar with his foot down) he put a new pump in when rebuilding, it runs and drive fine, no sign of blowing seals, possible just damaged sender? Any ideas to the cause? thanks jamie:)

mattanna
Yes i am no technical wizard by any means, but i suppose if it is running fine it could be an oil pressure sensor fault, i am sure you can get some sort of diag to actually check that the oil pressure is really high or not?? GTR forums may know
JamieP
Yea he is hoping its just the gauge, gonna try to swap with another tomorrow to find out. Its like a rev counter, flys up and down with the revs:D

Tricky-Ricky
Yes but i'm pretty sure its not related, i suspect it was just old and brittle, done another 2.5K including RR day and some spirited driving since:)

ECK
Yea he is hoping its just the gauge, gonna try to swap with another tomorrow to find out. Its like a rev counter, flys up and down with the revs:D sounds more like a resistance fault with the combo metre! try to manualy check the oil pressure with a guage but 8 bar sounds alot and there would defo be leaks at that pressure check all earths are clean just a thot!
