michael
Water, cheap, tap I use shampoo if they are really dirty. Anyone who leaves wheels long enough to need proper cleaners should be ashamed of themselves.

After a week they are covered, Ive tried water and sponge and its just not quite tough enough, im slowly getting a build of brake dust and I want it gone before they get ruined! chilli
Just the shampoo I wash the car with (mguires gold class), after finishing the car. but I have used autosol chrome cleaner on them, maybe once or twice a year to bring back that mega deep shine, looks lovely on deep dish alloys

michael
What brake pads do you have WSB? The best thing you can do is get them clean and then cover them in protective wax / wheel products to make them easier to clean the next time around. Whitesupraboy2
CW pads, I think its partly the weather too, but im out there every weekend at least cleaning. I had one rear wheel off the other wheel and was using a lollipop stick to get off the stuck brake dust without damaging the alloy. Although the backs arent that bad 1 or 2 specs on the whole wheel. I just want them to look perfect thast all.

peter richards
hi guys i just use the sonax gloss shampoo thats left over from the wash , and about twice a year i put the autoglym polish on just to give some protection. for my valeting , now thats a different ball game , as some of the alloys have never been cleaned , ive got an acid cleaner , which is strong . and ive also got a non acidic cleaner for new or fancy alloys , just dont leave them on to long , i do one wheel at a time , apply adgitate sp and rinse. on the bad ones yes leave to let the product work
Whitesupraboy2
Ok i bought ome of the turtle wax chrome alloy cleaning kit (£9.99) at halfords. And in all honesty im really really impressed. On the front wheels id begun to get some heavy brake dust on the spokes and with alloy cleaner it wouldnt come off. With this stuff you paint it on so can scrub with the brush too. And after the 2nd applicance all brake dust was gone and wheels clean. I could post up pics if someone wanted.
