hiten55
Has anyone got a viper alarm? their basically cliffords re-branded. but they have a pager function with lcd display which alerts you to tell you which sensor has been trigered. just wondering if anyone has any opinions on this one, its a toss up between that and the clifford 650 which is a lot more money for a lot less features..... Also any fitters in south east london that people have used? Thanks H
Ric
its the same as the clifford matrix then thats the clifford version of the pager system afaik Would rather go for a cat 1 system personally.
JustGav
I have got the clifford matrix fitted to my car, however I wanted it for the pager functions and all the bells and whistles.. BIG HOWEVER was the fact that it is not cat 1, so I've had to leave the concept 300 in and de/activate. In effect I have two alarm systems installed, but hey such is the craziness of the insurance industry here.
juanchan
They're not in SE London, but the guys at Sextons in Maidstone fitted a Clifford alarm to my Supra over Christmas. Speak to Matt Harwood - he knows his stuff about alarms! They even sorted a couple of minor issues for me while they had the dash off. Thanks Juanchan - I'll give them a call, definitely not using GAP though - the guy on the phone was REALLY REALLY pushy, spouted a whole load of written down mumbo jumbo, which i stopped listening too, and called my mobile 3 times when i told him i'll have a think and call back! plus they quoted me almost £400 more than my local fitter!!!! Big Ads
I have the Viper Security in my Soop, the LCD display is great when the alarm goes it tells you why (window smash, bonnet/boot opened, sonic sensors tripped etc.) a 500m range IIRC, just the right amount i find. hiten55
Do you have a link to any info about the VX500? Can't find anything. Ta sure thing - here you go mate Viper 500XV sorry, got the model number wrong - must be thinking of vauxhalls or something Looks like a gimmick as it has the same functions as the 4800, but alot more cost (gap quoted £200 - £300 more than the 4800!) im still considering it though -let me know what you think
