I understand what you're saying but with any job like plumbing etc etc you will be doing exactly the same lifting and shifting, bending etc or even a garage type job - especially the standing all day bit.

Maybe an office job would be more suitable?

Sitting down hurts more.

you should see the chair im in, lol tons and ton of pillows and a hot water bottle by my bum :D i still have to stand up after a while though :(

If you are serious re mechanics

find someone scrapping a car or a scrap dealer............take it apart in some free time.........get experience and find out if you actually enjoy it...........

I would think a women mechanic would be an asset to any forward thinking garage (oxymoron?).

Within weeks/months you will be able to offer basic services to friends which can boost your income......obviously after allowing for income tax.......you may find in a few years you could set up on your own and work form home and work your own hours.....

worst case you don't like it, but will have got enough experience to at least service your own cars in the future.........

i hated retail :( really realy detested it :(

All the customer confrontation got to me, i was fine and really good at it, but id come home every day all upset, all because some twat couldnt return his stupid game.

i enjoyed the product managing side of it though, and ordering and sending out stuff.

So you can't Sit or Stand...only a few other positions to try :D :eyebrows:

Ahem back on target....

You did soooo well then, even offered good advice at the beginning!

How about letting the other lovely people of the Isle of Wight help you out in the form of the dole? :D

How about being an Au Pair? Working with Children etc. Its just you've got a lot of experience in dealing and putting up with children (By that I mean putting up with us!!!:D ) You did a stirling job on Chrsitmas eve, keeping us all occupied ;)

I would love to employ you for my 6yr old boy but think the wife would take some convincing!!!! :)
