Need some advice...

Ok, I need a new career.

Ive had to leave nursing and caring for ever because it was crippling my back, and now im stuck as the only qualifications i have are for caring/nursing.

My previous employer owes me alot of money for holiday time that i havent taken and im now too skint to wait any longer.

I dont have the money to study, but if i go onto an apprentice job, the dont have to pay the minimum wage because its training and i cant afford to do that.

Being on the island i am extreemly limited to jobs, all of which require either experience or qualifications. If anyone knows of any jobs in portsmouth im willing to travel if they pay me for travel. i cant find any :(

So yeah any help and advice greatly appreciated.

As you like(?) nursing and caring etc...you probably like human contact jobs.

I don't know what the market is like there...but what about Beauty Specialist/Therapist? One that travels to peoples homes to give them massages, facials, manicures and pedicures etc...

You might need to take some courses but if it gives you a career that you can base from the IoW, then maybe it's worth the investment.

Fair enough...you probably need to sit down and decide what you like doing...and prioritise what you want out of a job.

Any actual skills? That would be useful to a garage? Or just blind enthusiasm :) How about a trainee in a boat repair place?

nope no skills what so ever, if i had the money and the time id probably go back to college and study mechanics.

and i detest boats. lol

I was thinking of ones in drydock....but anyway.

At 19, you can pretty much still so anything you set your mind to. I'd look into apprenticeships (is that a word?) in the things that fire your imagination. Make sure though it's something that you actually stand a chance of earning from...not just a whim.

Getting a trade like mechanic, plumber, electrician etc etc will always give you work.
