SkyJawa
LOL No probs at all mate, glad you are happy with them But they are good aren't they Wait until you try them from about 80 to 0 coming up to a roundabout - phenomenal Much better than Jspec Though those porterfields will keep you on the ball with wheel cleaning - they are a little dusty! paul mac
yer i've just fitted a set as well, money very well spent , an added bonus since i have owned the car it has allways clunked and rattled on the front end particularly when turning sharp left but now with the new brakes its all gone, it must have been worn out calipers
peter richards
hi guys , those calipers are huge compared with the old ones , looking through the spokes of the alloys there isnt much clearence at all . should be alright neil , the old ones were pretty dusty, just got a digital camera , so ill post up some pics . Shouldn't worry about it too much, I stuck some GS300 wheels on mine a little while ago and assuming the finish is the same as mine they are sooo easy to clean compared to the standard wheels, for some reason the brake dust just doesn't seem to stick to them = COOL !!. peter richards
hi womble , yes its probably because they have that machined finish on the face . experienced a slight knocking when touching the brakes today , hope its just bedding in time needed. SkyJawa
Knocking? That shouldn't be there, was fine on mine, everything fully tightened up?
dangerous brain
Don't laff at that advice. I recently changed the discs and pads on my omega. A week later one of the caliper mount bolts fell out, what a scary noise that made!! Wouldn't mind but I had five knuckle tightened them:eek:
peter richards
hi neil , spoke to the guy that fitted them today , he didnt feel that there was anything to worry about , but i insisted he checks them out. my old j spec didnt make any noises , so i cant see these should be any different. still happy with the extra stopping power. SimonB
Could be the anti-squeel shims or springy bit that holds the pads to stop them moving is on upside down or something I guess.

peter richards
hi neil , took the car back today , kev give it a test run , he said that the pads are moving in the calipers, which is what i can hear. we had a look at the brake manual he has , and there are shims that fit behind the pads . also re bled just incase there was a little air inside , . the clicking i can hear inside the car when the car is in park , is to do with the release mechanism or something , dont know about that one .. so it looks like ive got to get some shims , part numbers would be nice if anyone could get them for me , you know what toyota are like .lol. thanks peter
SkyJawa
You don't need the shims mate. Chris Wilson says you get better initial bite and pedal feel without them so I never bothered. I did however buy them, though never used them. If you want them I could prob dig them out.......
