Pabs
how many other admin accounts do you have on the machine? I've had this problem with activesync installs at work before. I had to actually log in as the other admin account to get any success.

Pabs
hmmm, not sure then. I'll have a think. I do recon your windows backdrop might have something to do with it though
Pabs
Actually - here's an answer: Open the registry editor and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>MediaPlayer>Setup In the right-hand pane, locate and double-click on the value "InstallResult" If the current value of InstallResult is 0xd2af9 or 0xC00D2AFB, change it to 0x0 Exit the registry editor Restart your computer and see if WMP11 still gives you an error

Jake
I don't like the newer versions of Windows Media Player. I use a thing called Media Player Classic. It plays everything and doesn't have any of the bloat you get with WMP.
