Chewie
Anybody got any recommendations on a set of 18" wheels with an emphasis on light weight. Sort of thing I want to spend my Xmas bonus on is a set of Volks GTCs split rims (they probably weigh a ton) but if there's something better out there, you tell me. Wez
Volks are supposed to be pretty light. I think the wheels JamieP has are very light, Envy stock them.
JamieP
Yea speak with Envy, mine was very light indeed, half the weight of my axis wheels id say.
carl0s
My Volk GT-AVs aren't particularly light. I know the Gram Lights were supposed to be, but very poor quality and out of production now. I was told that Volk were to bring out a new line of lightweight rims which were filling the gap left by the demise of Gram Lights.
AshBhp
Volk Racing CE28N are one of the lightest you can get. http://www.kineda.com/photos/auto/volk_timeattacks.jpg
Tricky-Ricky
My Ray's Volk evo 5 are very light, but i'm not sure if they are still made.
Branners
most of the Volk range are pretty light. If they are forged then they can be light and strong. There was a web site that listed all the relative weights of the wheels so it may be worth googling for it.. JB

Chewie
Great advice guys. That wheelweights link is spot on. Anybody got any opinions on Volks CE28Ns?

Chewie
Sorry Swandip but according to that wheel chart an 18" x 7.5" Team Dynamics Diablo is about 25 kg whereas a similar sized Volk CE28N is 14.7 kg!!! Is that right? With all that unsprung mass bouncing about, what's the handling and road holding like?

jamesmark
Contact Nic, if you are in no hurry he can source some very nice wheels from Japan at amazing prices, probably cheaper than any UK dealer too.
