Lewis
Only a few....there are over 2 billion muslims in the world and GROWING RAPIDLY....fastest growing religion in the world. That's because you feckers breed like rabbits, no eleccy/TV in the sand dunes eh? OBVIOUSLY very tongue in cheek!
SUPRASUZUKI
He's not referring to homosexuality, he's talking about the fear of homosexuality... ie the Muslim (any many other religion's) view. In other words, some people find their views on gays as second class citizens as offensive as flat out racism. Thanks for clarifying that. I was just pointing out that people who demand tolerance of their situation (religion, sexual preference, gender etc) should extend the same tolerance toward other minority groups. Seems like Muslims are equal (and rightly so) to others, but homosexuals are a lower being in the eyes of Muslims. You have to be tolerant in order to be tolerated IMHO. PS. I'm straight (but open minded). PPS. Happy new year everyone:)

Scoboblio
I wonder why they blindfold folks before hanging them. Anyone know? Probably in Iran's case, so they don't have to stare into the faces of all the jolly spectators who have gathered to witness the "show". I don't think its down to a particular country as some would like to think so. It seems to be (use to be) common practice...I don't know why but if you have watched hollywood movies, take the Green Mile as an example - they blindfold them in there - What about Braveheart??? michael
I wonder why they blindfold folks before hanging them. Anyone know? It's generally a hood they use rather than a blindfold - I think it's for a few reasons, one to stop rope burns (hence the 'scarf' they still put on Saddam), to stop the condemned from seeing when the level is about to be pulled and moving (which could result in poor rope placement and a prolonged death) and to shield onlookers from the face of the person being killed. Some countries use a blindfold though, I presume they like to see tongues hanging out, others use nothing...
Green Peace
I wonder why they blindfold folks before hanging them. Anyone know? No idea...I was thinking that when Saddam refused to wear a hood. They do some weird shit in some of those countries dont they? lol. The only problem is we have to deal with their ancient ideals when they arrive on our shores and ask for citizenship. I have quite a few Muslim mates, i know two Muslims who are gay...and there is someone I am working with who is making a documentary about young Muslims 'coming out' should be a really good documentary! If you believe in what you follow than your God should be in your heart not on your fist. I dont need Gods Guidence or his light, ive got one of those Fuck off 15Million candle power searchlights ha ha:p

It is the law of their Land - so respect it when / if you go there. Let's liberate those bastards (they're next).......democracy is the saviour Id say more ...Human Rights...than democracy.. I understand the 'morals' of Muslims and other religeons, and I have great respect in most cases...but there are extremes in every quarter... There are Gay Muslims you know..I have met two recently, through a colleagues work project, im sure there are thousands more, so should we hang them all? My Mate Sham and his wife are two of my best mates, I have great respect for them. They are passionate about being Muslims and I have every respect for their religeon and their way of life, they are also very tolorant of some of my other friends and at parties and getogethers everyones differences become irrelivent...In this world all of us have to fight each other to the death..or we just have to fight our own misunderstandings.... Britain is a Western Country....the ideals of a Western Civilisation come first here, thats why we choose to live here...equal rights for all equal respect etc.. Peace n Love Si;)
imi
Britain is a Western Country....the ideals of a Western Civilisation come first here, thats why we choose to live here...equal rights for all equal respect etc.. Exactly. Not the case in other countries (despite the FACT that they are not proper Islamic Countries). This is not tolerated in those countries and you need to respect that. Simple as that really. "Gay Muslims" - Now this is being made into a "controversial" subject when to be honest if one were to study Islam (which I guess is the relgion that your mates try to follow); it is very well covered and pretty clear cut. Personally, I am not a good Muslim (born and bread here, and live a western lifestyle - so I'd have to change my ways if I was living in a different country - that is my choice), I am aware of what Islam says (most of the time - although I should know more); we have a choice to follow Islam to the level we chose (the onus is on us). Trying to challenge and change Islam to suit OUR LIFESTYLE should not be the objective of the exercise - sorry. Like I said, used to be the same in Christianity (although its now changed to suit). and I am sure its the same in Judaism today. We are going seriously off-topic here.....perhaps start another thread should you want to discuss this. - although I don't think its deserves any airtime as its not an issue at all. I cannot disagree with you, you cant half believe in something or tailor it to suit your lifestyle I totally agree with that. Its obviously difficult though if ya suddenly turn 16 and your a gay or Lesbian but your family are extreme Christians or Muslims. I personally dont have any immidiate plans to go on holiday to Iran (im well hung as it is thankyou...soz bad joke not funny), though it is a fasinating country in many respects...(Unless you are a women or gay lol) Its New Years Eve..and this could turn into a big debate as we both know..and niether of us can prob be arsed anyhow lol.. imi
(Unless you are a women or gay lol) Not true about the women comment. 65% of the students in Iranian universities today are women studying all sorts of degrees; they are working; educated and employed. Happy new Year bud, peace to all.
