Having major problems trying to get Toyota EPC discs to load on my Windows 2000 system. Anyone running it successfully on this OS? I have European A1 disc and JDM A1 disc loaded OK, but it won't load any others, nor will it accept the Lexus dealer code... I want all discs on the hard drive, but it won't even let me load them to operate from the CD's... Is there a guide? Thanks.

Chris IIRC the lexus dealer section dos'nt work even with a code?? I did use the EPC a few years back on a win 2000 system without any problems. The oby thing i remember was you had to set it up in such a way that it used the data from the CD and not the hard drive.

So if you wanted you use the Euro CD, you had to pop the CD in and run the prog, go into cd setup, check the EURO disk 1 option from CD to harddisk. it then copied a few files to the hard drive. But when using the actually EPC program it searched the data from the CD/ If you wanted to use the JAP version you had to repeat the whole procedure again but for that CD.

EDIT: there should be a readme.txt file on the installation guide which has a breif explanation for setup

I managed to get my EPC to work a few weeks ago after about 9 months of trying. Basically it would only work if I installed everything on C: if I tried to install it on any other drive it didn't work.

I found the same, though I cannot get it to work on my latest PC :(

I have it working on my G: drive :D

It took a few attempts but this is what i did:

Installed everything from the cd's to a partition i set up especially for the EPC.

I then ran the epc setup and installed the software pointing the program to this partition.

Then i ran the cd set-up and clicked the "japanese area version"

Clicked Add and clicked "a1 cdrom", then i checked the hard disk button, this should change the "a1 cdrom" to "a1 hard disk"

Then click excute, you will be asked for jap a1 disk and jap a2 (maybe) and will install the data to the partiton and thats it ! (i hope that works for you)

I have had to give up on this to preserve my sanity. Thanks anyway. Maybe it needs a smaller partition than the one I have, yet why would it load SOME discs and not the rest...? What's the latest disc series people have?

Chris I have one of the latest releases of the EPC, the folder includes install instructions which are very straight forward and work fine.

I have a problem with internet connection at the moment due to a local earthquake, once this is sorted I can upload the file to your FTP site if you let me know details.
