michael
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10151&productId=239687&categoryId=33962 Oddly when I looked at this yesterday it was £279.95 in the shop or £259.95 with a code online. I wonder how many other things are getting a price hike tonight ready for the 'sales' on boxing day?
RedM
Are you absolutely sure? There are rules on the pricing of sale items. If you have a print of that page from yesterday I'd go down and ask for an extra amount off or you'll be off to trading standards.
michael
I'm sure The item has probably been advertised in store for a set period of time at it's current price prior to it being reduced to the one I saw, I wasn't planning to buy it until the new year anyway, it's discontinued and likely to come up cheaper. If you google it the Halfords sponsored link comes up with the price it did yesterday, the link fails though.
RedM
The link may actually be several days old though. Same if you Google 'rd-85dt' it shows a link to Amazon that is a few pounds cheaper than the actual page.
JohnK
Last Christmas I was looking at a DVD recorder in John Lewis. I decided to wait til after Christmas for the "sale" and it had gone up £10!!!
markjodrell
I was gutted last year, brought my mrs a ring beginning of December for £1475 , the same ring was half price in the January sales, felt cheated / ripped off :( :(

If you have a print of that page from yesterday I'd go down and ask for an extra amount off or you'll be off to trading standards. I'm not an expert on it at all - but I thought that the rules were that the item had to be on sale at the pre-sale price in *some* stores for a set period of time - but that's not necessarily the store the item is on sale at. Not sure what the period of time is either - although 28 days rings a bell. If you were a slightly dishonest retailer I guess you could carry severely inflated prices in a few select stores before christmas - just so that your after christmas sale prices look good, even if you've really increased the price. The Restorer
Was speaking to someone from a major electronics retail store earlier and he told me they've been asked to 'up' the price on alot of products. Be careful and don't get carried away is all I'm going to say!
