From the very start position you have access left and right plus straight on down a corridor between two rooms. One room has a secret entrance within that corridor, the other can be entered from the main part of the room. In there is some items plus a switch. Something about pressure control. Press that and head for the chaingun area. The wall blows up allowing access outside. Of course, I'm pissed right now so if it's not all that accurate, well bluergh.....
