Suprash
Me and Gaz6002 will be going with a few local cars to Pod in the new year. We have lined up a little drag race between ourselves which is just good fun, aint bothered about who wins with me or him, any 2jz accross the line first is ok in my books, but there is a few other cars I really dont know fook all about, and before I go giving it the "I'll hand you your arse" I thought I would check these are easy killings....... First one Im slightly concerened about is a Cossie........nice looking grey one actually, dont think its had any engine work done, but cant find any info on it...... The second is a Calibra with a Garret T34 turbo, this Im more concerned about just cause I know its been fettled with..........
JamieP
A well setup cosworth can be very fast... beware;) When are you going? id be up for going aswell.
Gaz6002
right, I beat splinter in the calibra in my MR2 turbo. I'm worried about the Escorts taking off ability but we should dick him after we get some traction. Don't worry matey
supra matt
should kill the calibra mate as its font wheel drive . the cossie on the other had many give you a good run for you money thats it it makes it to the finish line lol .
colsoop
Escort cossies in stock form run about 14 for the quarter mile. I have no idea about that calibra, but that doesn't sound like a very big turbo. But if it is 4wd then it might launch quite well ?

Suprash
Gaz we need to find out if this Cossie has had any work done to it, its very clean and shiny, inside and out and under the hood, dont think I have ever seen such a clean example..... The Calibra is 4wd...........

End of the day we won't know till we go, so just get your motor running sweet and see what happens. BTW, don't worry about the Calibra

I personally think the fords would need to have had a shite load of work done to even get within a couple of car lengths of you. With regard to the calibra, well to be fair you should give his a few seconds head start just to be sporting its well in the bag, i'd put money on it. RobSheffield
The Calibra may perhaps need help actually crossing the line - money on it failing at a quarter mile

hadyn
the pod is a crap surface at the best of times, its practically useless for grip in january, trust me I know I've tried it when I was desperate for a run... _Rob_
A sorted Cossie will be quick. A mate of mine has been into Cossies for a long time. He had a 4 door 4WD Saphire when i got my Supe. the Supe was stock, he was running a few extras, slightly bigger turbo with ext wastegate etc. Was around 280 bhp and i couldnt pull away from him on dual carriageways or the motorway. He sold it though before i went BPU so dont know how that would fare up. Just hope the Cossie aint an RS500.
