bypass the dash dimmer switch??

Ok...

My dimmer switch is buggered which results in a fuse blowing for the dash lights. If I unplug the switch, then no lights come on.

I have Prof Monkey getting me one, but in the mean time is there a way to bypass it? By somehow connecting to connections on the plug for the dimmer switch??

Does this make sense?? Hope so! :)

thanks

Can't be that hard to suss out. There's only 3 wires/connections (I think). Trial and error... lots of fuse popping!!... lol.

Any chance you could have a look chris? Or do you not have the car anymore??

Or if anyone else knows, or has wiring info??

thanks

Hi all,

Everything seemed to be working just fine when I last drove the supra for a mini test about a month ago.

The active cruise control has always been tempromental but

I think I've got a similar problem with regards to the dimmer switch.

'TRC Off' 'Diff Oil' etc all do not illuminate. Any ideas ?

Warning light in-operation is often down to dry solder joints on the panel PCB. Resolder them.

Dimmer switches sometimes fail due to people adding gizmos with illumination that draw too many Watts from the dimmer switch and burn it out, or who do things with the dash wiring and inadvertently short out the switch output side.
