merckx
Has anyone bought the Lexus V8 oil filter recently? - 90915-20004 In the States it's been discontinued and replaced by 90915-YZZD3 which I've heard isn't quite so good. The TRD red filters aren't cheap, I'm not sure if they're worth the extra money.

merckx
Lexus filters...Really guys....why? They're supposed to be good quality , they use them on the Lexus V8. An approvement on the standard Supra filter and not as expensive as other alternatives.

I've never had any problems with Fram and I know of others that swear by them. I can't stand paying dealers for sundry items like this. _Rob_
i know i know.. My reasoning is that when i got the Supe, the first oil change i did, i got my filter from toyota and was 'impressed' with how the filter looked. Looked big and good quality. Then next time i went, toyota had stopped doing this filter. I can now only get it from the lex garage. Its still boxed and branded as toyota, but is the part no. for the V8 lex engine. TrickTT
£22 (Envy) for a TRD oil filter is hardly expensive. Worth it imho
Terminator
The Lexus filter uses exactly the same filter medium as the stock filter, it is just a slightly bigger filter. Substitute filter are not as good, they use an inferior filter medium. Having cut up several non stock filters it is easy to see the difference.
